I just recently bought a pair of Merrell Moab Ventilator hiking boots and I can’t be happier.  I have a pair of Vasque Sundowners at home that I love for hikes over twenty miles but they are too heavy for short and dry hikes.  That’s why I started looking for something that weighed less and was cooler.  My wife has a pair of Merrell hiking shoes that she loves so I took her advice and bought a pair myself.

She loved her Merrell hiking shoes because they were comfortable and didn’t need any breaking-in.  She completed several tough hikes in the Sierra without any blisters the first week she owned the hiking shoes.  I’ve found my Merrell boots to be as good as hers.  They didn’t take any breaking in and are almost as comfortable as a pair of socks.
