Man Dies in the Arms of Denali
Over 100 people have died on Denali but on July 4th an Illinois man died on the summit making him the first to do so. Alaska’s Denali, or Mt. McKinley, was James Nasti’s 49th peak in his quest to reach the highest points in each state. A crew returned to bury Mr. Nasti on the 20,320 foot peak as a recovery wasn’t possible. Now the man that loved the mountains will remain on the highest peak in North America.
